Christmas Eve Memory from Marilyn Meredith
I belonged to a sorority and one year we heard of a family with three children. The father was out of work and they had no money for Christmas. We bought and wrapped gifts for everyone, got a small tree and decorations, all the fixings for Christmas dinner and we took everything to their small apartment. The dad was working on his car and asked if he could help us. Imagine his surprise when we were taking everything to his home. The mother and kids watched us with eyes wide. When asked where everything came from we said, “You have heard of Santa Claus, haven’t you?” I’ll never forget how wonderful that made us feel.
